                            Our story

began over 23 years ago. It was 1994 and we were working at a five-person firm in Cambridge, MA when we began designing the Kendall Square Cinema together.  We soon found that we shared the same design sensibilities and passion for our work.  We visited the construction site together every day, as it was only a few minutes walk  from the office, so we were intimately involved with all aspects of the design and construction of the building. In fact we were so involved that the firm’s principal once commented that he felt like he worked for us.  We subsequently worked together in two other firms, decided to marry, and eventually formed studio J2 in 2003.  Needless to say our love and enthusiasm for our work has always been an integral part of our relationship and it still brings us the same joy.

The Kendall Square Cinema was published in Boston Magazine and won an ASID Design Excellence Award in 1996
